About Harjap Singh Bhangal

Harjap has been practising UK Immigration law since 2002. He has now become the “go-to” person for the UK media whenever any immigration matters need commentating on. Through his TV shows he has made UK Immigration advice accessible to the public for free and also via his free advice shows on the BBC Asian Network.

Early Life Career

Bhangal was born in Romford, Essex, United Kingdom. He studied at Law at Kingston University and then at The College of Law. Harjap qualified as a Solicitor in 2002 and began his own business in 2004. Harjap is Senior Partner and Head of Immigration at GLS Solicitors (Global Legal Solutions Ltd) which has 3 offices in the UK in London, Birmingham and Coventry. In 2007 he released a monthly, bilingual, immigration magazine called Immigration Today, which discouraged illegal immigration and promoted the correct ways to migrate abroad after realising that many immigrants lacked education and knowledge in relation as to how to how to migrate abroad. His first TV show was Law & U on British former TV channel Vectone Punjab, He currently appears in an his own non profitable weekly TV show Legal Solutions that broadcast on MATV every Fridays in over 55 countries and also streamed live online via MATV official Website and Youtube and has a reach of 500,000 people weekly. This is a live interactive call in show where anybody can call in and obtain free UK immigration advice and he also interviews other solicitors on his show to give advice on non-immigration related matters.

Harjap has interviewed and supported many charities on his TV show and has allowed them to promote themselves in order to gain support such as Khalsa Aid, Midlands Langar Seva Society, Anthony Nolan, Basics of Sikhi, Khalsa Save a life campaign, Asian Womens Resource Centre and more.

Harjap developed the first free downloadable APP for android where it calculates how much savings you need if your income is not ?18,600 in order to call your spouse from abroad under UK Immigration law.

Harjap has contributed research to 2 BBC Panorama programmes and a BBC World Service RadioDocumentary. He also contributed to research a BBC documentary about booming land prices in Punjab. He has received the Bh?rat Gaurav Samm?n (Glory of India Award) from the India International Friendship Society, as well as being awarded a gold medal in the presence of  Sir Michael Anthony Arthur (former British High Commissioner to India) for his services to UK Immigration.

Charitable Work

On top of that he takes time out to help causes such as Unique Home for Girls, IncludeMeToo, Khalsa Aid, MLSS, Khalsa Save a Life, Anthony Nolan and also goes to India and brings back information to share with the public through his videos. He raises awareness on issues such as Grooming, Health, Domestic Violence, Depression, Cancer, teaching, property, tax and provides information to the public that may not be accessible to them in their own language.

Harjap learnt to ballroom dance and helped raise over £10,000 for charity Punjabi Wolves by participating in a Strictly come dancing competition in Oct 2015.

Recently Harjap was invited to be a keynote speaker in Calgary, Canada by the PCHS charity in order to talk about issues affecting the Punjabi community in the UK and Canada (February 2017). He also helped raise over $6,000 for the charity by holding a live auction.

Harjap hosted a charity event in Kent and helped raise over £14,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital by holding a charity auction in 2017.

Not only is his TV show watched in UK & Europe but also now worldwide through his youtube channels. He has taken time from outside of his work to host a community TV show as well to highlight important issue affecting the Asian community and has given free coverage and publicity to charities and causes that otherwise may not have got it. There are over 20 TV legal advice shows on various channels on the Sky platform yet Legal Solutions remains the most popular due to his presenting style, sense of humour and honest approach. He has made a hit TV programme literally out of himself, a TV camera and a phone line.
